Ironbridge Gorge in Shropshire was one of the first UK locations to be named a World Heritage Site, recognising the area's contribution to the birth of the Industrial Revolution in the eighteenth century. By 1800, the Ironbridge Gorge was the most technically advanced area in the world.The museum’s collection is of national importance and the artworks to the focus on the industrial and transport revolution as well as local history and ephemera.
