Who benefits from the Art UK Shop?

Every purchase made on the Art UK Shop helps support museums and galleries in the vital work they do around collections care, public engagement programmes and learning. Find out more about the Art UK shop and the benefits to museums and galleries.

How do I contact Customer Services?

You can contact us by email at shop@artuk.org. We will endeavour to get back to you within one working day. Our working hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm.

How will I know if my order has been successful?

You will receive a confirmation email after placing your order if you order has been successful. Please check your junk/spam folder and add shop@artuk.org to your safe list. Please contact us if you do not receive an order confirmation.

When will I receive my order?

Dispatch times vary depending on the product ordered and delivery destination.

Framed and unframed prints are made to order and are dispatched within 3-5 (unframed) and 5-10 days (framed). Please allow up to three working days after dispatch for delivery within the UK and 28 days for worldwide deliveries. There may be longer delivery times during peak periods and when promotions are running or if there are service issues in your area.

We use the Royal Mail to deliver items in the UK. Please see Delivery Information for further details.

How much is delivery?

Delivery prices vary depending on the items ordered and delivery destination.

Delivery to the UK for framed and unframed prints range from £3.50 - £18.25. Additional delivery charges apply when multiple items are ordered. Final prices can be found by adding items to your basket and visiting the checkout.

How do I check the status of my order or track a shipment?

You will receive a shipping confirmation email once your order has been dispatched which will contain a tracking number when an order for a print or print-to-order product has been placed.

If you have a shop account, the tracking number will also be stored within your account. To access this information, log into your account and select My Orders. Select View Order and Order Shipments, where you will find the tracking number and carrier used for the order.

If your order does not arrive within the advised delivery times please contact us.

Where do you deliver to?

We deliver to most countries in the world, but some exclusions apply. We do not accept orders from the following countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, Romania, Ukraine, Morocco, Turkey, Macedonia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Albania, Serbia, Indonesia, Uganda and Nigeria.

What is your returns policy?

If you wish to return your purchase, or it is damaged in transit, please notify us within 14 working days of receiving your goods. 

Custom art prints (framed and unframed) and print-to-order gifts are bespoke, made-to-order goods therefore a 50% fee of the cost of each returned item will be deducted from any refund. However, if an item is faulty or damaged when you receive it, you may return this for a replacement or a refund.

Why are there fewer works for purchase in the Shop than there are works on Art UK?

The Art UK Shop is being developed over time. It was launched with paintings owned by 7 Partner Collections that are out of copyright. Gradually we will add more Partner Collections' artworks to the Shop.

I would like to purchase a print of a work that is not available in the Art UK Shop

Some larger collections have their own online shops selling prints of their artworks. Please contact the relevant collection and they may be able to supply this directly.

Why are some prints limited in size?

Print sizes are based on the resolution of the underlying image file and the quality of the original artwork.

What sizes and finishes do reproduction prints come in?

Most photographic reproduction prints are available in a range of finishes and sizes from A4 to A0. A1 and A0 are only available in semi-gloss and some artworks may not be offered in these sizes due to the quality of the original artwork.

Do you use glass in the framing service?

All sizes are available in the framing service but for safety reasons, we do not use glass in the process. A very high-quality acrylic glazing is used instead.

Will there be imperfections on the reproduction prints?

Many of the artworks in the national collection have been very well preserved, however, some artworks have only survived in a folded or damaged condition, and therefore the reproduction will copy their present condition. Please check the thumbnail of the image prior to placing an order to be sure you are satisfied with the quality of the original artwork.

Are Art UK Shop transactions secure?

Shopping on the Art UK Shop is safe. We have in place security systems and encryption technology to help ensure the security of your personal information. All information is encrypted and transmitted using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol.

How are prints packaged?

Prints from size A3 to A0 are rolled in a plastic sleeve and packaged in a high-quality, robust cardboard mailing tube to ensure that your order arrives in top condition. Smaller prints (A4 and smaller) are packaged in hard cardboard-backed envelopes.

Framed prints are packaged suitably by a framing company to ensure their safe arrival. All packaging used is recyclable, recycled or compostable and reused wherever possible.

How do I set up an account on the Shop?

Create an Account on the Shop to save your delivery address, manage your newsletter subscription and track your orders.

How do I unsubscribe from the Shop newsletter 

If you have a shop account, log into your account and navigate to Newsletter Subscriptions. Untick the box next to General Subscription and select Save.

If you do not have a shop account, there is a link to unsubscribe at the end of each newsletter. Please select this and you will not receivie any further shop newsletters.

Why can't I use my gift voucher 

Unfortunately gift vouchers cannot currently be accepted as a form of payment due to internal updates to the Shop platform. This is a temporary measure and gift vouchers will be accepted again in the near future. We are working on rectifying this issue. Please contact us if you would like to discuss further.
