This catalogue contains over 1,700 full colour images within 296 pages. The dimensions are 29.5 x 23.5 cm and the catalogues typically weigh between 1.8 - 2.8 kg.

This volume reproduces 1,800 publicly owned paintings from 77 collections in Herefordshire, Shropshire and Worcestershire. Works by Sir Frank Brangwyn, Dame Laura Knight, Benjamin Leader and Paul Nash feature alongside many lesser-known artists with a more local remit. This area includes the fringe of the Birmingham conurbation, represented here by the collections at Dudley Museums Service. Beyond this, however, these are rural counties punctuated by the cities of Hereford and Worcester, where the main collections are found at Hereford Museum and Art Gallery and Worcester City Museums respectively. Shropshire’s contribution to the Industrial Revolution is highlighted by the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust collection, while the largest collection in the county is situated at Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery.
