David Teniers the Younger The Five Senses coasters – 5-piece set
This set of five coasters feature the ‘five senses’. The theme is commonly found in Flemish and Dutch painting, and these examples are by David Teniers the Younger (c.1640). The senses are allegorically represented by a draughtsman and bespectacled old man, a piper, a medical scene, a man holding a roemer of wine, and a man and woman with carnations.
